Dried roots and rhizomes of Clematis mandshurica, Clematis chinensis, or Clematis hexapetala (Ranunculaceae).
Key Constituents
Triterpenoid saponins, including clematichinenosides and hederagenin derivatives, as well as anemonin and phenolic compounds.
Traditional Functions
Dispels wind-dampness, unblocks the channels, relieves pain, and promotes joint mobility.
Traditional Uses
Traditionally used for joint and muscle pain, stiffness, numbness, neuralgic pain, and limited mobility associated with wind-dampness.
